IDEA CUP: INDIA’S FLOP SHOW

The final match of the idea cup which had happened in Bangladesh has been grabbed by the sri Lankans with both hands. Make hay while the sun shines. The Lankans did that appropriately. I think the Indians must have been too complacent so that they actually cut loosed themselves in the final show. The irrelevant shot selection by all of the Indian top orders evidently showed the entire world that still team India lacks consistency.
Being one of the favorites of the world cup they should try to win the every tournament they lose thereby try to inflict some psychological stress in their minds of the adversaries. But this time the challenge posed by the favorites was not even formidable that the Lankans crashed them with no real hard pressure.
The Lankan players apparently deserve hails for their great effort in the field in every aspects of the game played. The plot was set to trap the top order Indian batsmen and unfortunately everyone of the front end batsmen ended up in seeing themselves fallen to the bait.
There was no real concentration from the batsmen that they hardly not played the balls bowled far away the line and the Indian batsmen trying to act too smart fetched at all the balls thrown outside the half stump and at last ended in screwing up the strong bas e which they were supposed to build up for India to excel the opponents.
The Lankans were really tough in the field and they barely gave up from chasing the ball to the boundaries and they should have at least saved 20 runs. The Lankans intimidated the Indians right from the start of the game by trapping Gambhir, Yuvraj, Kohli, and Dhoni cheaply.
Kohli the in-form batsman had to play a loose unjustifiable shot to deign himself from his caliber which he has shown in the ongoing and last series so far.
The batsmen were seem toppling while Sehwag on the other hand was see n promising until he joined his mates in the pavilion by playing a shot which was unnecessary and cheeky trying to run the ball to the third man boundary eventually ended up in the keeper’s gloves.
He should have assessed the bowler’s pace (kulasekara) that the odds of finding the keeper’s gloves are more than finding the boundary line.
Mean while Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja the future promising stars comprising the middle order of the team had shown stiff resistance rather than withering away. Suresh Raina gladly utilized the opportunity to score a ton which has come after a long period of time since the last one. Neither he got opportunity once to do so but when the situation demanded hugely from him he hasn’t failed to deliver the fortune for the team’s sake.
The positive outcomes of the match are that the inexperienced and untested batsmen are put into vigorous probation while Jadeja failed to deliver a great show as Raina did. Nevertheless he played hi s part well enough to guide the team out of the twilight time of the play along with Suresh Raina.
